1 trailer, 1 teaser, 1 music video, 2 interviews and 2 disclaimers (but not in that order)

Elko Blijweert is this year’s curator of the Exposed Music festival. Learn all about this unique event featuring Roland Van Campenhout, Bjorn Eriksson, Dennis Tyfus, Milan W. and many more by watching the trailer below.

More information and an early peek inside tomorrow’s magic can be obtained by watching the interview/report on Antwerp’s local tv channel ATV here. Caution: the video is Dutch spoken and features Flemish folk dancing.

The Mechanics (Evrard, Hiele, Pawlowski, Thielemans, Trouvé) announce their debut album by presenting its first video. Listen to and watch “Out Of Lovetown” below.

You can learn more about The Mechanics by reading this interview. Caution: the interview is in Dutch and features references to free jazz.

Lastly, a mysterious teaser video turned up on Rudy Trouvé’s Facebook page, pseudo-promoting the even more mysterious project “Screen”. You can watch it here.

HEY! BONO FUCK YOU TOO

“The drummer of the band is an asshole. Kill the drummer.
The keyboard player is despicable.
The singer is a twat.
Kill the band!

On the verge of a possible international breakthrough, Hey Bono, Fuck You Too, will give you a concert of a lifetime. Although this can not be guaranteed in a positive sense. The only certainty given is that band members will keep their clothing for the whole duration of the concert. At least, that is what is promised (No refunds possible if otherwise)

Expect music made with the most modern technologies, a lot of cables and an exceptional beautiful hunk on saxophone. No batteries needed (for the instruments), it’s all electronic and electrifying! We also offer moving images. In colour! Full surround and odorama included!

And of course Bono might be attending us for a duet.”

“It’s gonna be great. It’s the best” (D. Trump)

Drums/synth: Bono Engels
Vocals/synth: Bono Trouvé
Guitar/synth: Bono Van Uffelen
Sax/synth: Bono Sarens

Hey! Bono Fuck You Too will play their first ever concert at Het Bos this Thursday October 12th.

Rudy and Elko announce plenty of gigs

It’s been a while since this website has been updated. Apart from this webmaster, no one has been sitting still though. As always, plenty of exciting Heaven Hotel projects are in the pipeline and interesting live shows keep occuring more than ever before.

First up is a solo acoustic gig by Rudy Trouvé tomorrow 15th of June at CoSta in Antwerp. According to the venue’s website, there’s the possibility to ask questions and even make song requests!

Listing all of Elko’s many upcoming (solo and other) shows here would sure be handy, but that’s what the Tourdates section was invented for.

Oh and do you remember Elko & Jeroen’s radio show at all? Here’s their latest episode:

Rudy Trouvé and Jeroen Stevens get up early this Sunday

Rudy Trouvé and Jeroen Stevens will play as a duo for the first time ever this Sunday morning at C-Mine in Genk. They will accompany several actors in a piece about people’s favourite years. It seems like a highly interactive event which starts at 11 am.

Heaven Hotel family friend Jeroen Stevens has been curating the “Musician’s Choice” series at Filmhuis Klappei for a while and would like everyone to know about tomorrow’s event. Said event consists of Dutch underground legend Meindert Talma playing a very rare Belgian solo gig, followed by a screening of the British cult film “Withnail & I”. Here’s the flyer:

And here’s the Facebook event link.

And here’s last Tuesday’s Het Kralenspel radio show:

The Mechanics on tour

After playing a few critically acclaimed concerts last summer, all-star avant-rock ensemble The Mechanics embark on a four-date tour later this week.

Drummer Eric Thielemans is joined by Rudy Trouvé on guitar and slow dance moves, Mauro Pawlowski on bass, Jean-Yves Evrard on guitar and Roman Hiele on electronics. In this case the sum really is even bigger than its parts, which means these upcoming shows are not to be missed!

17/03: Beursschouwburg, Brussel
18/03: Café Café, Hasselt
19/03: L’Entrepôt, Arlon
20/03: De Ruimte, Amsterdam

Links and addresses can be found in our tour dates section.

Elko B.’s first solo album

So here’s the news we weren’t allowed to disclose in the last update: Elko B(lijweert) is releasing his first ever solo album on the 8th of February through Ekster! You can take a look at the artwork, read the tracklist and promo text and, most importantly, pre-order here.

The official record release concert will take place on 5 February at 1 pm (!) at Bosbar. This Saturday, 28 January at 4 pm (!), Elko will already play a semi-improvisation preluding a “displacement of works” by Luciano Mergo at said artist’s exposition at Haecken & Ooghen, Klapdorp 35, Antwerp.

Exactly one week later, on the 4th of February, Rudy Trouvé will play live at the same location for the next displacement of works.

Elko and Jeroen reunited at Radio Centraal this afternoon. Hear the result below.

Below you can listen to a relatively recent episode of Elko and Jeroen’s Het Kralenspel radio show (with Mauro Pawlowski joining them in the studio):

Rudy & Mauro play duo show at Oude Beurs – Mauro rushes off to Klappei

Tomorrow, October 1st, Rudy Trouvé and Mauro Pawlowski will play a duo set at Oude Beurs to help celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Radio Centraal’s “De Wolkenbreiers” programme.

This will happen at 8 pm sharp after which Mauro will rush off to Filmhuis Klappei where he will play a solo set after “Ashik Kerib”, his film of choice, has been shown to the audience.

Find the full addresses in the tourdates section.

Both events seem rather unmissable.

As was last Tuesday’s Het Kralenspel – another Radio Centraal show – featuring (albeit in spirit) a mystery guest mentioned in this very post:

Pop monuments Rudy Trouvé & Daan share the stage, The Archetypes reunite

Another eventful weekend is coming up!

Tomorrow, Thursday 8 September, The Archetypes are reuniting for a one-off show at Café Cosmopolite in Antwerp. Miguel Sosa, Elko Blijweert and Jeroen Stevens will be improvising together for the first time in years. Scroll all the way down to see the flyer for this concert.

On Saturday, Rudy Trouvé, Daan and many others will be playing seperate sets at special (monumental) locations in the Dutch town of Bergen-Op-Zoom.

Info and links about both of these shows can be found, as always, in our Tourdates section.

Argentina’s finest Miguel Sosa of The Archetypes, Cassini Division and Strumpets fame was invited for a rare interview on yesterday’s Het Kralenspel radio show, which you can listen to below.
