Big Bear also began playing music at an early age...eleven. In his own words the only thing he did was 'banging on cardboard boxes' which apparantly didn't please his neighbours much. Later he formed bands with Stef Kamil Carlens, without much success, until at fifteen years of age he graduated to the hardcore-trashband VAIS for six months and then, dissatisfied with the low volume, joined SUHRIM to play 'real heavy shit'. All this time BIG BEAR was playing guitar, but things changed when he formed a band with his brother and took over bassguitar duties. This band made a demo but fell apart not so much later. He continued playing with his brother at weddings, funerls and on the street until he formed WALL OF SWEAT together with VIKING DAVE.
BIG BEAR is happily married and lives in a barge on the Schelde.
