Rudy Trouvé and Jeroen Stevens get up early this Sunday

Rudy Trouvé and Jeroen Stevens will play as a duo for the first time ever this Sunday morning at C-Mine in Genk. They will accompany several actors in a piece about people’s favourite years. It seems like a highly interactive event which starts at 11 am.

Heaven Hotel family friend Jeroen Stevens has been curating the “Musician’s Choice” series at Filmhuis Klappei for a while and would like everyone to know about tomorrow’s event. Said event consists of Dutch underground legend Meindert Talma playing a very rare Belgian solo gig, followed by a screening of the British cult film “Withnail & I”. Here’s the flyer:

And here’s the Facebook event link.

And here’s last Tuesday’s Het Kralenspel radio show:

The Mechanics on tour

After playing a few critically acclaimed concerts last summer, all-star avant-rock ensemble The Mechanics embark on a four-date tour later this week.

Drummer Eric Thielemans is joined by Rudy Trouvé on guitar and slow dance moves, Mauro Pawlowski on bass, Jean-Yves Evrard on guitar and Roman Hiele on electronics. In this case the sum really is even bigger than its parts, which means these upcoming shows are not to be missed!

17/03: Beursschouwburg, Brussel
18/03: Café Café, Hasselt
19/03: L’Entrepôt, Arlon
20/03: De Ruimte, Amsterdam

Links and addresses can be found in our tour dates section.

Rudy produziert DAAU spielt DAAU

You may already be aware of the fact that Rudy Trouvé curated, produced and arranged Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung‘s forthcoming 25th anniversary album “Hineininterpretierung – DAAU spielt DAAU”. As well as making the artwork and live visuals, he also put together a promotional video with Fairuz Ghammam. You can watch the result below.

Elko and Jeroen had Yves De Mey as a guest on last week’s Het Kralenspel radio show. Feel free to (re-)listen here:

Elko B.’s first solo album

So here’s the news we weren’t allowed to disclose in the last update: Elko B(lijweert) is releasing his first ever solo album on the 8th of February through Ekster! You can take a look at the artwork, read the tracklist and promo text and, most importantly, pre-order here.

The official record release concert will take place on 5 February at 1 pm (!) at Bosbar. This Saturday, 28 January at 4 pm (!), Elko will already play a semi-improvisation preluding a “displacement of works” by Luciano Mergo at said artist’s exposition at Haecken & Ooghen, Klapdorp 35, Antwerp.

Exactly one week later, on the 4th of February, Rudy Trouvé will play live at the same location for the next displacement of works.

Elko and Jeroen reunited at Radio Centraal this afternoon. Hear the result below.

Happy New Year

Although this website has been suspiciously silent for a while, Heaven Hotel’s key members certainly haven’t.

The follow-up record to “Pawlowski, Trouvé & Ward”, which came out ten years ago, has finally been released through Jezus Factory and Heaven Hotel. You can stream it and buy a digital copy here. Cd and vinyl copies are available through Jezus and should soon be stocked in our shop as well.

Elko Blijweert is featured as Elko B. on Ekster‘s eksellent (sorry) second instalment of its “Exo” compilation series. He is currently finishing the follow-up record to “Left Bank Drive” together with Joris Caluwaerts, Simon Lenski and Frans Van Isacker.

Rudy Trouvé has arranged and produced Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung‘s 25th anniversary album. On top of that, he is currently slaving away at the album’s artwork as well as the band’s new live visuals. The release date is set for the 12th of May and will be accompanied by a concert at De Studio in Antwerp.

Never busy enough, Mr. Trouvé also collaborated with Intige Taluure (aka Phlitman & Kang) on a cassette tape which was released in November of last year through Bananafishin’ Records. We will hopefully be stocking some copies soon.

Keep an eye on this website for some very exciting news which I’m not allowed to disclose as of yet.

While you’re waiting, enjoy the most recent Mixcloud episode of Elko & Jeroen’s “Het Kralenspel” radio show.

Happy New Year!

Rudy Trouvé has dropped a digital single with accompanying video (featuring one of those funny Chinese cat dolls) as a nice little teaser for this joyful event.
